Okay, so yesterday while waiting for our dinner to be prepares, Cynra & I went to get some bathing products for me. I'd lost my soap and poofy at the Wellness centre, so we got a new poofy and some of that fancy body washing stuff (now with exfoliant!)

So, after this morning's quick round of the Wellness Centre's machines, YHB hosed himself off and took his act on the road. Perched myself at my desk and started dealing with the clients.

Then, I noticed my head was itchy. So I scratched it.

Fair bit of skin came off. So I scratched again. More skin. Keep scratching, more skin. Soon, it's like the worst dandruff nightmare you ever had, as flakes are falling like snow on Christmas morning. I'm honestly getting a little freaked out at that moment, and am grateful I eschewed a black t-shirt for something in a grey this morning.

Soon, the blizzard of skin has ceased. I brush a few errant flakes away, and am now gonna watch that bottle like a hawk.

And for the record, right now I am not that glad I use Dial.

Anyway, when I tried to text Cynra about the morning's events, I learned that my phone does not know either Exfoliate or Dandruff.

Not that I would wish this on anyone ... but by any chance did any of the "Wellness" machines utilize unshielded fusion reactors?

Or, for the rather-a-lot-less-leukemia-option, perhaps instead of exfoliating you're moulting?

Doug.

You were using a an exfoliant product so it's possible it's just VERY effective.

After years and years of skin problems with soap and regular gym and dojo trips, here is what I have finally settled down to as my cleaning regimen:

- Tersaseptic body cleanser in the gym bag
- Neutragena T/Gel Extra (use at most once or twice a week) in the gym bag

- Dr Bronner's Liquid Peppermint Soap for use on body and hair in the shower
- Neutragena Anti-Residue shampoo (use only once or twice a month) in the shower

- Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood hard shaving soap + brush by the sink
- Multiblade razor (Gillette, currently)

- A short hair cut

Bronner's "Magic soap" is fantastic stuff, and I wouldn't go back to using any other kind of commercially produced soap.

With a manly "lather builder" (thankyou, IronHead) to apply and exfoliate, I find I don't need any special extra exfoliation chemical assistance from my cleanser, thank-you very much. Bronner's all-vegetable soap exfoliates with the scrubby well enough.

I find with short hair, I don't wash my hair every day; most days I use the body cleansers to remove surface dirt only. Once or twice a week, I treat with the T/Gel. The other once or twice a week, I use a commercial shampoo, or a more concerted scrub with the Bronner or Tersaseptic. Once every three or four weeks, I use the Anti-Residue Neutragena to strip the hair of any extra goop, but I nearly always use my wife's conditioner after these sessions.

This works for me, but I have dainty Baltic white-guy skin... 8)

No, I don't think quite. My attention to my wardrobe is nowhere near attentive enough. The most expensive piece of clothing I own is the pair of Allan Edmonds shoes I got married in. I haven't worn a tie in years. My idea of "dress pant" is a pair of cotton dockers; mostly I wear jeans and cotton shorts.

The cleaners listed above have been cobbled together over years of trial and error, and fall firmly into the "what works" category. None of them are exotic or pricey (the sandalwood shaving soap lasts forever, so the cost is amortized).

I'm more a blend of "small-town euro" and typically Canadian, than I am metro-anything.

My mom has really sensitive skin, and that Dial exfoliating stuff ripped her skin all to pieces (honestly, it made her arm bleed). So she gave it to me. Thanks, Mom! (Actually, I had problem with it.)

As long as you didn't hit skull, you'll be okay.

Don't use Dial. Nasty stuff.
