Holidays are well planned this year, somewhat. I've got a few rollowers from last year that I got because my Christmas vacation got turned into a bereavement period, and I've got march break off (Hey, Ottawans! I'm coming for YOU!). I've got the two days prior to FanExpo off, and I've taken the Monday afterwards, too, so I can just relax. Maybe we'll stay for dinner after show and stay at the hotel an extra night.
I'm still trying to arange for the other few days of the year, and hoping I'll get holidays (Thanksgiving and Victoria day and Canada Day and all the other great holidays they don't celebrate in the Holy Republic).
I may just apply to get the Friday of Toronto Trek off. And maybe the Monday.
1. leave me a comment saying, 'interview me'.
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. update your LJ with the answers to the questions. (You must do this, even if it's filtered for my eyes only!)
4. include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. when others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
Those, btw, are not the questions, they are instructions. THESE are the questions from
life_on_queen.
1) You handle - ironic, literal or political statement?
Branding, actually. I think I might have had in my head that I wanted to try keeping The Bitter Guide alive. There have been plans about various things here and there. I know for a fact I'm significantly less bitter than a lot of people I know. At this point, it's mostly ironic.
2) What is it about gaming that keeps you playing after all these years.
All my stuff is there. No, really. I have accumulated an unGodly amount of game books, and all these dice and little figures. Plus, it's really, really fun. I can
3) What is the biggest fallacy about gamers, what is the biggest truism about gamers?
The biggest fallacy is the lack of hygeine thing. You go to a con and there's an odor? You gotta remember that you're in a room full of guys who are probably not that lean who've been gaming all day. Two things: A) big guys sweat, and B) they've spent the entire day sitting in a poorly ventilated room. Society wants to act like humans don't perspire, but those glands aren't going anywhere.
Biggest Truism? That gamers like to game, and to gossip, and can be rent asunder by petty social squabbles.
4) Batman or Superman and why?
Superman. It wasn't really an issue until Miller did DKR. Then Morrison shat out the BatGod of Contingencies, and suddenly history's greatest case of imbalanced buddies becomes a joke where the most powerful guy in the planet gets beat up by a sociopath with parent issues.
5) What is your favourite uniquely Canadian food and why?
For foods that you can get regularly, Poutine. It's salt, starch, and fat. The perfect winter food. For special event foods, Beavertails. God, I miss Beavertails.

3. Do you consciously not use tags on your LJ? Or is it just something you never got around to doing?
4. I see you just re-read the Wild Cards books. Have they aged well?
5. Is runaways readable in floppies? I've only read the first run as hardcovers, and got the Whedon series as floppies. I found the Whedon's not very engaging until I read them as a single story.
