Weird weekend. I may try to write it up in specifics, but fuck that for now.
Saturday, I ended up ditching VIA to get a ride with my cousin (arrangements attempted to be made for Saturday did not happen). Drove down to K-Town, some light shopping (at the glaaaaamorous Cataraqui Town Centre, now with less parking to inconvenience you more) dinner with the folks. Had the Filet Mignon w/ Shrimp. Meat was nice (although for all I know they fed me crap; I ain't no gourmet), the shrimp edible. My contribution declined. I hate having dinner bought for me. I'm a contributing member of society, dammit! I wanna pitch in for the meal!
Back with Uday, four hours after arriving in K-Town. His car was a wreck. The Mechanic Pater Bitter had taken Uday to was, well, a ripoff artist. The 'effin windshield wipers didn't work. They flew off the car when we tried to use them.
Since it wasn't snowing Saturday night, that wasn't a problem. Except it was. Thankfully, because it was COMPLETELY FREEZING, we made it home in just under 3 hours (only a lot more than it normally takes) and the snow was dry, so it didn't stick to the windshield. I drank Tim Horton's Cider twice on Saturday.
Got him, puttered about until about 5 a.m. (I stay up late with no wife to nag me), got up at 8 for an 8:30 business event. Went well (my contribution was adored), got home. Snra arrived eventually w/
elizard100 and friend.
I napped after a shower, and Mr. Z & Wife came by. I was napping WHILE they came by, but thankfully not in the living room.
Mr. & Mrs. Z were by with late Christmas presents; for Snra. a framed picture of Peggy's Cove, and for me, an Linksys Router.
Suddenly, the wireless xbox doohickey makes a LOT more sense.
We're up and running in remarkabley little time flat, and I'm subscribed. Yet to PLAY anyone, but it will be Good to Play Together.
Once again: Mechwarrior, Crimson Skies. You know, I wish Crimson Skies had been a Canadian game. Then they could have called it Crimson Skiis.
Shame PoP has no XBL components. That game fun.
Afterwards, Jack Astor's for dinner (the menu has been redesigned to remove that annoying element of 'fun'). Got Nachos (I had SO been jonesing for Nachos) and a shared Buffalo Strip basket. You know, whoever came up with the idea of putting Buffalo sauce on chicken strips was a genius.
Afterwards, Master & Commander. Darn, that's a good film. 7.5, maybe 8. Wonder why they changed the enemy ship to the French instead of the Yanks.
Tonight, the tree comes down. We meant to bring it down earlier, but things happened.
