thebitterguy: (Are you RETARDED?)

Earlier today, Gian Ghomeshi, AKA The Persian Guy from Moxy Fruvous, hosted Billy-Bob Thornton AKA The Former Mr. Angelina Jolie on Q, his daily Arts & Culture radio show on the CBC. Billy Bob... Billy Bob had emotional issues.

Apparently he's disavowed any knowledge of having been an actor (Most folks call it being a pompous ass, I reckon) and took umbrage wiht being mentioned as such.

The blowup (as it were) has gone a bit viral, even finding its way to the HQ of class, TMZ.com.

Well, I hopped over to Q-TV to check it out (see the video above) and as I started recharging my iPhone, I noticed that the Q Podcast was downloading. Now, I don't know what the normal turnaround time is for the Q Podcast, but it appears this is strictly BBT's blowup.

So, yeah, the CBC appears to be keeping on top of this. Good for 'em, I figure.

A) The iCBC app. It will have a variety of things on it, like schedules, and maybe links to podcasts, etc. But the most important thing it will have is it will sync up with your GPS and tell you what frequencies CBC 1 & CBC 2 are on. Dammit. Because there's nowt as frustrating as traveling cross country and losing Cross Country Checkup!

B) iLendstuff app. iLendstuff will have three pages. One page will list stuff you think someone will like (I think Mike would like to read my Wil Wheaton book) and another page will list stuff you've lent someone (I've lent Elizabeth Y the Last Man vol 8 & 9) and another will list stuff you've borrowed (I have borrowed Mike's copy of Bioshock).

Because there's nowt worse than the day after getting together with a friend and going "Wait, what did I think they'd like to borrow?"

Apparently, Cranky UK Judge Simon Lee was AWOL from the final two episodes of Maria because he was in the hoosegow.

Strange, dat.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to The Bitter Guide to the Blogosphere!

After the piece in Torontoist kvetching about the World's Biggest Schwarma being a letdown, (at least they didn't make a mess in the nearby World's Biggest Bookstore, requiring a cleanup iwth the World's Biggest Bounty Paper Towel) I figured I'd check out the chattering classes opinions on Little Mosque on the Prarie.

Ah, man. I'm such a glutton for stupidity. The best are the usual suspects, the Lileks Lite, Black Helicopter, "Clinton was Worse!" crowd. Like this winner, which implores Canuck readers to write their MP to complain about this "state funded dhimmitude". They should have said State Sponsored dhimmitude, as that would have been so much sexier. It's sad when somene learns a new word and can't let it go. I'm sure they're heartbroken that this isn't a BBC Co-production set in England entitled "Little Mosque in the Midlands", as then they could have also unloaded with "Eurabia". I wish blogs were around in the '70s, so we could read about calls to write your MP to protest the "state sponsored something or other" imposed by their heartless broadcasting of King of Kensington.

On the other hand, she looks hot photoshopped into that Supergirl costume.

Randroid chick in Supergirl costume.

Why are famous wackos always hot? Or are they famous because they're hot? Are there any ugly female wackos? No, don't tell me.

And does she appreciate the irony of dressing up as an illegal alien? I sincerely doubt it.

The grumpy gusses at Free Dominion pile onto "you can only make fun of Christians!", which would stop if they'd only stop being so damn funny! Seriously, it's a larf.

Generally, aside from a little fearmongering on the wacko right's part, it seems to be mostly either people saying "ZOMG! Canada's making a sitcom about Muslims! Canada makes sitcoms?" (Just watch Trailer Park Boys, you fools! You bloody, bloody fools!) Or people talking about how much publicity it's getting. What's amusing is that then other people talk about the article about how much publicity they're getting, giving it more publicity. It's like the worm Ouroboros.

Reed Solomn takes a moment to complain about the CBC, and FARK, and pretty much everything else. I long for the day we can send people Bran Buds over the internet.

Edit: And I'm looking forward to it, too. I'll PVR it and get a Shwarma on my way home from my massage.
Edit2: Hey, Trailer!
