Hey, everyone! Welcome to The Bitter Guide to the Blogosphere!
After the piece in Torontoist kvetching about the
World's Biggest Schwarma being a letdown, (at least they didn't make a mess in the nearby World's Biggest Bookstore, requiring a cleanup iwth the World's Biggest Bounty Paper Towel) I figured I'd check out the chattering classes opinions on Little Mosque on the Prarie.
Ah, man. I'm such a glutton for stupidity. The best are the usual suspects, the Lileks Lite, Black Helicopter, "Clinton was Worse!" crowd. Like
this winner, which implores Canuck readers to write their MP to complain about this "state funded dhimmitude". They should have said State Sponsored dhimmitude, as that would have been so much sexier. It's sad when somene learns a new word and can't let it go. I'm sure they're heartbroken that this isn't a BBC Co-production set in England entitled "Little Mosque in the Midlands", as then they could have also unloaded with "Eurabia". I wish blogs were around in the '70s, so we could read about calls to write your MP to protest the "state sponsored something or other" imposed by their heartless broadcasting of King of Kensington.
On the other hand, she looks hot photoshopped into that Supergirl costume.
. Why are famous wackos always hot? Or are they famous because they're hot? Are there any ugly female wackos? No, don't tell me.
And does she appreciate the irony of dressing up as an illegal alien? I sincerely doubt it.
The grumpy gusses at
Free Dominion pile onto "you can only make fun of Christians!", which would stop if they'd only stop being so damn funny! Seriously, it's a larf.
Generally, aside from a little fearmongering on the wacko right's part, it seems to be mostly either people saying "
ZOMG! Canada's making a sitcom about Muslims! Canada makes sitcoms?" (Just watch
Trailer Park Boys, you fools! You bloody, bloody fools!) Or people talking about how much publicity it's getting. What's amusing is that then other people talk about the article about how much publicity they're getting, giving it more publicity. It's like the worm Ouroboros.
Reed Solomn takes a moment to complain about the CBC, and FARK, and pretty much everything else. I long for the day we can send people
Bran Buds over the internet.
Edit: And I'm looking forward to it, too. I'll PVR it and get a Shwarma on my way home from my massage.
Edit2: Hey, Trailer!
